Osteopathic Manipulation

What is Ostepathic Manipulation?

Osteopathic Manipulation is a hands-on technique carried out by the physician to enhance joint function and mobility. Relying on deep knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, an osteopathic practitioner can help reduce pain and effectively treat common neck and back injuries. Dr. Andrew Lipton is a board-certified Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) and uses this technique as part of his pain management services. Learn more about the history of Osteopathy or watch the video below:

Types of Osteopathic Treatments

Osteopathic Manipulation Treatments (OMT) incorporates diverse techniques ranging from gentle soft tissue (myofascial) to more forceful (high velocity). These treatments seem similar to chiropractic treatments, but are often done by a family doctor as part of a holistic healing program.

Age, health, and preference of the patient determine the technique used. We will walk through different options with each patient and make an informed decision based on your specific needs.

Osteopathy and Mesothelioma

While there is no cure yet for mesothelioma, some doctors have shown that osteopathic treatments help with the side effects of cancer treatments. We work with patients in all stages of health, providing them with pain management treatments, including osteopathic manipulation.
